Last Post of 2013 and New Goals for 2014

Tuesday, December 31, 2013
I cannot believe that 2013 is coming to an end and suddenly I am in bed with a fever and a headache. Not fun at all. However, I am excited to link up with Jessica from First Grade Nest for her 2014 Resolution Linky Party.

Without further ado, here are my resolutions...
I would like to hopefully become a substitute teacher by this year. I had subbed before and I can be more prepared for this. I would also like to go back to school to hopefully resumed my Bachelor's degree. I already have my Associate's degree.

Well, I can confess that I have been a bad blogger but now I am making a goal to be a better blogger and devote most of my time to my blogs. I am wanting to host linky parties and possibly giveaways soon. I would also like to devote most of my time to my TPT store. Hopefully, I will make products this year.

I would love to hopefully find the man of my dreams one day. But, I know that is all up to God to decide my future husband.

I have another confession. I have a bucket list that I wanted to accomplish by the time I am 40 years old. I want to start working on that this year since I am 24 and I have a lot to accomplish before then.

I would love to go on more mission trips. I have been to a mission trip to New Orleans. I hope that I will have the time and the health to go on another one, this time out of the country.

Well, That was my New Year's goals. I hope that everyone have a Happy New Year and see you in 2014.

My Thirteen in '13

Tuesday, December 24, 2013
Well, I cannot believe that 2013 is quickly going by me like a lightning rod. Today, I am linking up with some wonderful bloggers for their linky party.

13. Favorite article of clothing:
It would probably be my pair of boots. They are enjoyable to wear in the winter and the fall. I would also wear leggings with my boots on a few occasions.

12. Favorite movie
I watch Parental Guidance on my HBO app on my iPad. I love anything that has to do with comedy.

11. Favorite TV Show(s)
Since I have a lot of favorite TV shows, I may tell you a few of them or you will be up all night reading this post. So I will be showing you one of them. Also, I watched a lot of reality shows.
Who doesn't love this show!!
10. Favorite Restaurant:
In my hometown, there is a Mexican restaurant called Lupe's that served the best enchiladas.
9. Favorite New Thing That I've Tried:
Well, it pertains more to this blog. I started this blog last year in November and last year I did not know anything about linky parties. Well, I took the plunge and made a Currently a few days before my one year blog anniversary. Hopefully, I'll make a linky party in 2014.Now, if only my TPT store could have the same motivation. A second thing that I tried was that I went to a webinar hosted by Laura Candler in August which gave me some insightful ideas to use in my future classroom.
8. Favorite gift that I got:
Well, on Sunday, I got me two scarves and an Alabama shirt for Christmas. One of my church ladies gave it to me as a gift. Hint: she was my teacher when I was in school, hope she or anyone else from my church is reading my blog.

7. Favorite thing you pinned:
Well, it was in my November Currently. It is perfect for cold weather like this...

6. Favorite Blog Post:
I would referenced it back to #9 on this list. Joining my first linky party.
5. Best accomplishment: (This can put you into tears)
This is a personal experience for me. Last year, I stopped going to church for personal reasons. I thought things would be good. Well, things got bad and when I was a volunteer teacher's aide, I got sick to the point that I had to say goodbye to my volunteer job, I had to take a few semesters off from school. But, then my grandma got sick and it litterally came to the point where she did not know where she was or who my family is. In September, I was just crying out and I made a bold decision to go back to church and also to let God control all aspects of my life. So my biggest accomplishment was being recommitted to Christ full-time and even be immersed in His word. I am making some positive decisions in my life because of that accomplishment. My biggest tests was when my grandma was rushed to the hospital while I was at church and they clearly thought that she was going to die. I was scared and upset. I started crying and then I prayed with God and today, she is at home with us getting ready for Christmas.
4. Favorite Picture
My little dog niece who is a Siberian Husky.

3. Favorite Memory:
I did field experience with 4th and 5th graders this year. I was able to do them at the same school that I went when i was a little girl. The biggest part of the memory was that my old fifth grade teacher was my cooperating teacher when I went to observe and work with fifth graders. Also, when I was with fourth graders, I had the opportunity to talk to my old sixth grade math teacher who is now a fourth grader(she was retiring). Nothing can beat working at a place where everyone would remember you so well.
2. Goal for 2014:
My professional goal is to become a substitute teacher since I have done it a bit before at a county or city school district. My personal goal is to break out of my shell and enjoy life as I know it.
1. One little word:
Future
This year has been a roller coaster of ups and downs in my life personally and professionally. The biggest down was seeing my grandma in the hospital after she was rushed there for food poisoning. I realized that I do not need to worry about things that much, rather but to hope that God is there for me. I do see myself in the future having a family of my own and becoming a teacher. The reason why I wanted to become a teacher was that God was calling me to become one and I took the chance to display His talents for me to become a teacher. But, like becoming a teacher, God is in control of my life. In January, I was in a relationship, but he wanted to go fast and I realized that God was telling me that His choice is still out there. Hopefully in the future, I would have a guy who would love me and a beautiful family to call my own.

Well, that post was a bit hard for me to write because some of the things that I wrote about was heart wrenching in my life and were life lessons. Hope everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Everyone out there in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, and other states stay weather safe today. Remember to watch your local weather stations and The Weather Channel to find out more about what's going on in your area right now.

Christmas Questionaire

Monday, December 16, 2013
Well, I am intent to write posts left and right. I am joining Michelle from Fabulous in First for her Christmas Questionaire. I get Christmas-happy and also DIY-happy. during this time of the year. So forgetting to write posts is really common.

-Hot Chocolate or eggnog?
I prefer hot chocolate since it is the only thing that I remember. I have lots of hot chocolate in my house, I lost count of it.

-Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
He pretty much wraps the presents underneath the tree. He doesn't mind the extra work anyway.

-Colored lights or white?
It is a mixture of both for me because the resonate well with each other.

-When do you decorate?
My family and I decorate in November. I do have a tendency to procrastinate with decorations for Christmas.

-Real or fake tree?
My whole life have been around store-brought trees. However, when I do have a family of my own, I would love to have a real tree.

-What tops your tree?
Most of my life, it has always been a ribbon. Now, if my brother decorated the tree, it will have a touch of camoflauge on it.

-Favorite Christmas memories or traditions?
I have a lot of traditions and memories. But, I will pick a memory and a tradition. My favorite memory which is also a tradition was going with my church to Operation Christmas Child processing center in Atlanta almost every December to help pack shoeboxes. I love being able to give and help out for children to experience what we have offered.

-Do you prefer giving or receiving?
I prefer giving because it is the actual spirit of Christmas and it is the thought that counts.

-What is your favorite song?
Probably the song that dominates my holiday playlist on Spotify which is "Winter Wonderland". The feel of that song is what makes up for most of Alabama being warm during most Christmases.

-Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum?
Pretty much good, but most flavors are horrible to taste. By the way, I am a picky eater.

-Favorite Christmas movie?
I love Christmas Vacation because it the best movie to watch and laugh at. Howver, I also love any holiday movie on UP Uplifitng Television and also on the Hallmark Channel.

-Do you shop online or at stores?
Mostly at stores because it is a great time and easy way to immediately put presents underneath the tree.

-Photo cards, letter or store-bought cards?
I prefer photo cards because I love to see the families that took the photos and enjoy seeing the creativity even though I love seeing all the cards.

Hope everyone have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

First Annual Holiday Cookie Swap Party

Tuesday, December 3, 2013
Today, I am linking up with The Reading Tutor?OG to go to my second linky party. As many of you know, I am a huge fan of cookies. I love to bake some cookies and found a wonderful cookie recipe that involved favorite candies such as M&Ms.

The image of the cookies is taken from Allrecipes.com

This dessert is my favorite because of course, M&Ms are my favorite candies. I have been addicted to these types of cookies since i was a little kid. My mother always make these types of desserts around Christmas time and is really appreciated through love to her children. I cannot find her recipe so I got the recipe from Allrecipes.com

With that being said
God Bless, Have a Nice Day, and Roll Tide

December Love and Currently!!!

Sunday, December 1, 2013
I cannot believe that it is December already. Seems like the time has been flown by and will continue until the month ends and the month of January begins.  First, yesterday was the Iron Bowl. For most of you who have not known me, I am an Alabama fan. My favorite team lost in a heartbreaker to Auburn Tigers 34-28(sniff). I am over it now and then I found out that one of my celebrity crushes that I had in high school, Paul Walker has died. It was a crappy day yesterday and now I am feeling better. I hope everyone had a.) a wonderful Thanksgiving and b.) an injury-free Black Friday.

Anyway, here is my Currently from Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade, so here it is:

Listening- I am listening to Investigation Discovery. I love that network and also would catch my favorite shows such as Dateline on ID, 48 Hours on ID, etc.

Loving- I am loving that it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. My house is set for Christmas and also Christmas songs are on and movies are on.

Thinking- How could I become creative? I am somehow the creative one in my family. I am making a few stuff for Christmas. Any Ideas?

Wanting- For January to be here. This is my birthday month and I am excited to celebrate that with all of you. I will be turning at least 24 years old. My birth story will come soon in January.

Needing- I need to find a way to schedule my posts to be written on my blog. I have been neglecting it lately.

Favorite Tradition- I live in Hanceville and they do Christmas in Hanceville, such as a Christmas parade. I participated in this parade, once with my church, and a few times in the marching band.

Another one of my favorite traditions is also 24 hours of A Christmas Story. Any person could tell you that this movie is the best to watch on Christmas Day. What favorite movie do you watch around Christmas time?

So, I will blog you guys hopefully soon.
God Bless, Have Fun, and Roll Tide Roll!!!
